Our holdings include several thousand books on site, great STORIES about Lafayette County, MS, plus files of obituaries, cemetery records, hundreds of rolls of MICROFILM and microfiche cards. We have extensive Civil War records (including 128 volumes of the "War of the Rebellion," Mississippi maps, how-to books for genealogical research, numerous family history folders, books about families and files, the LDS indices to legal cases in Lafayette County, migration records, military records, marriage records (including almost 10,000 licenses, receipts and returns) along with original county records from the 1800s and other unique and out-of print materials and periodicals. There is a unique group of publications produced by the Society that are availible here in the library for use onsite. If you'd like to use any of them at home, you'll find them HERE.

In adddition to our focus on Mississippi and Lafayette County, we have reference material from almost every state especially those providing immigrants to our area.  We're continuing to add to our database weekly. The room is open at any time the library is open, but is usually staffed by experienced Genealogy volunteers during afternoons Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
