Lafayette County, Mississippi was created in 1836. Most of the County records survived the Civil War burning of the courthouse in Oxford and are in reasonably good condition. However, the earliest records (1836-1847) are lost. Book 1 of the two volume marriage bonds set covers the years 1848-1881. This volume, Book 2, picks up there and covers 1881-1900.
